For this year's Annual Exhibition, Allied Artist of America is honored to have Mr. Harry Bower as our Juror of Awards!!!!
Harry Bower is a fiber artist and sculptor who currently resides and maintains a Fiber Studio in Island Heights, New Jersey. He is the curator of Art and Collections as well as the Art Committee Chair for the John F. Peto Studio Museum.
Mr Bower received his undergraduate degree from Rowan University and his Graduate degree from Rutgers University. He has taught art for 29 years in the Toms River Regional School District, New Jersey and received several prestigious awards for his work as both an elementary and secondary school art educator. Some of these achievements include; Teacher of the Year, once for elementary level and once for high school level and the High School Art Educator of the Year for the Art Educators of New Jersey. His latest recognition was in receiving the Governor’s Award for Education in 2020. This prestigious award is given by the Art Educators of New Jersey to honor exemplary long-term dedication to the visual art profession.
In addition to influencing countless young artists, Mr. Bower has also reached adult students through his fiber arts workshops in America, Europe, and Asia. His work has also earned him many fellowships and grants from organizations including the The Geraldine Dodge Foundation, the Fulbright Memorial Foundation, and the Artist-Teachers Institute.
