JACK HORNER

Jack Horner is a retired stockbroker who conducted a parallel career in Naval Intelligence. When he stood down from the latter service in 1987, he began painting in watercolor and subsequently oil and pastel. He has exhibited his work for the past thirteen years – first through the Boca Grande, Florida Art Alliance and later through national competitions where he has been accepted in Allied Artists of America, Oil Painters of America, American Society of Marine Artists, Audubon Artists of the Salmagundi Club, New York, Northeast Watercolor Society, Kentucky Watercolor Society and Rhode Island and Virginia Watercolor Society.

​He is represented by Serendipity Gallery in Boca Grande, Florida, Gallery 5800 in Richmond, Virginia and Windjammer Gallery in Hamilton, Bermuda. He has conducted a solo show at the Old Coast Guard Station, Virginia Beach, Virginia; was an exhibitor at the Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Maryland; and in 2002 he exhibited paintings for: Oil Painters of America, Richmond, Virginia and for American Society of Marine Artists in Hagerstown, Maryland.

​Horner is a member of Allied Artists of American and Virginia Watercolor Society. The artist sees beauty and composition virtually everywhere but usually confines his subjects to scenes indigenous to the exhibition area.
